CRC - goal 2

Aside from just silencing media, governments in places like Iran and China block sites like Facebook, where their people might be able to find and share news or express dissent. CRC creates and distributes technology that allows oppressed people to surf freely, while protecting their identities. Complete activities below to earn free donations that will help make sure their voices are heard.

The Censorship Research Center (CRC), a San Francisco-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded by Austin Heap and Daniel Colascione in 2009 to serve as the legal entity and provide anti-censorship education, outreach, and technologies for free to those who need it most. The CRC’s first major project is Haystack, which seeks to provide access to information and communications to the Iranian people in the wake of recent restrictions imposed by the government of Iran.
